Sweep isn’t much of a challenge

The Eugene Challengers welcomed summer in with style, sweeping Klamath Falls in a doubleheader on Tuesday night at Swede Johnson Stadium. The defending Area 4 champions improved to 8-3 overall and 6-0 in league play after clipping the Falcons (2-10, 0-6) by scores of 10-0 (six innings) and 11-4. In the first game, Eugene starter Brock Townsend pitched a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and no walks.
