Season 2019 Batters

 

Here’s your summer class of 2019 Batters. Each player stepped up to bat in hopes to hit heavy. You can view an up-to-bat photo and small bio for every player on the roster, with the exception of three pitching photos for Cho, Hayden and Jarrett. 2019 was full of great batters, so scroll down and check them out!


#1 Kyle Lund

Kyle is returning for his second season with the Challengers after finishing his first year at Chemeketa Community College. In high school, he was a state champion in both spring and summer for the 2017 seasons. In 2018, Kyle was a state semi finalist, 5A Midwestern League 1st Team All-League Outfielder, 2nd Team All-State Outfielder, and Most Outstanding Pitcher in the ‘18 Oregon All-Star game. He was also a two year varsity player in hockey. In his free time, you can usually find Kyle hunting, fishing, or watching his favorite MLB player, Brandon Crawford.


 

#2 Kevin Pierson

Kevin is currently attending Willamette High School and is joining the Challengers for his second season. In this past season for Willamette, Kevin earned a 5A Midwestern League 1st Team All-League Pitcher as well as 5A State Honorable Mention Pitcher. He was named to the Honor Roll at Willamette this past school year. His hobbies and interests include hiking and spending time with his family. You can expect Kevin to show up to every game with a large cheering squad consisting of his parents and siblings.


 

#3 Trent Keeler

Trent is returning for his third season with the Challengers after completing his first season at Umpqua Community College. A graduate of Junction City High School, Trent was a varsity letter winner of all four years and he was a two-time Sky-Em 1st All-League Infielder. When Trent isn’t on the field, he’s hunting, fishing, hiking, and watching highlights of his favorite MLB player, Ken Griffey Jr.


 

#6 Cal Morgan

Calin recently graduated from Sheldon High School and is returning to the Challengers for his second season. Cal was a 4-time Scholar Athlete and is a member of the National Honors Society. He is also a 3-time letter winner in both football and baseball while also receiving All-League honors in both. He intends to continue his baseball career in while attending George Fox University. When he isn’t on the field, you can usually find him playing sports, spending time with his friends and family, or watching his favorite MLB player, Mookie Betts.


 

#7 Dane Woodcook

Dane is back for his second season with the Challengers after finishing his sophomore year at Willamette High School. So far, he has earned two letters in both soccer and baseball. As a freshman, Dane was a 6A Southwestern Conference 2nd All-League Catcher. His interests include fishing, hunting, and spending time with his friends and family. You can also find him cheering on his favorite MLB player, J.T. Realmuto.


 

#8 Cole Wilkinson

Collier is returning for his second season with the Challengers after completing his first collegiate season as a pitcher at the University of Portland. A graduate of Churchill High School, he was on the 2017 5A championship Team as well as the 2018 5A State Semi-Finalist Team. In 2017, he was a 5A Midwestern League 1st Team Utility Player and 2nd Team All State Utility Player. The next year he would become a 1st Team Pitcher, Pitcher of the Year in the Midwestern League, 5A Pitcher of the Year, and 1st Team All State Pitcher. He enjoys cooking, tattooing, and coaching baseball. His favorite MLB player is Buster Posey.


 

#9 Peyton Bracy

Peyton is a recent graduate from Willamette High School and plans to attend Umpqua Community College. He’s returning for his second season with the Challengers. He has earned 6A Southwestern Conference All-League Honorable Mention twice as a Utility Player, 1st Team All-League First Base in the same conference, and 2nd Team All-League First Base in the 5A Midwestern League. When he’s off the field, Peyton is usually playing baseball, hiking or golfing. His favorite MLB player is Mike Trout.


 

#10 CJ Townsend

CJ is a recent graduate from Churchill High School and is joining the Challengers for his first season. He plans to continue his baseball career at Treasure Valley Community College. CJ was on the 2017 5A State CHampionship team and the 2018 State Semi Finalist team. He also earned 5A Midwestern League Honorable Mention and 2nd Team All-League as an infielder. When CJ isn’t playing baseball, you can find him in the wild hunting and fishing. He loves spending time with his friends and family, as well as watching his favorite player Mike Trout.


 

#11 Johnathan Prescott

Johnathan just graduated from Junction City High School and is returning to the Challengers for a second season. In high school, Johnathan earned a varsity letter all four years for baseball. he was a 2-time Sky-Em 1st Team All-League Outfielder, Sky-Em Player of the Year, 4A 3rd Team All-State, and a 4A 1st Team All State. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, playing baseball, eating Little Caesars Pizza, and watching his favorite MLB player, Aaron Judge.


 

#12 Connor Jones

Connor joins the Challengers for his first season this year. He recently graduated from Churchill High School after lettering in baseball all four years. He is a 2-time 5A Midwestern League 2nd Team All-League Catcher and earned Gold Glove Honors as a catcher. His hobbies include fishing and hanging out with friends and family.


 

#14 Beau Burnett

Beau is joining the Challengers for his first season after graduating with honors at Churchill High School. He earned a 3.8 GPA and is a member of the National Honors Society. Beau earned three letters in baseball and football, and plans to continue playing baseball at the Arizona Christian University. During high school, Beau was named a 2-time 5A Midwestern League 1st Team All-League Linebacker, 2-time 5A Defensive Player of the Year, 1st Team Pitcher, Pitcher of the Year in the Midwestern League, and 1st Team All-State Pitcher in his senior year. He likes playing video games and football, as well as spending time with friends and family. His favorite MLB player is Jason Heyward.


 

#16 Kellar Edwards

Kellar is returning to the Challengers for a second season after completing his first year at Southwestern Oregon Community College. In high school, he graduated as an honors student and was a Gold Glove Shortstop as well as an All League Honors. He was also named a Gold Glove infielder in the southern NWACC region. While off the field, you can find him snowboarding, surfing, traveling to foreign countries, and watching his favorite MLB player, Javier Baez.


 

#19 Prestin White

Prestin is a returning member of the Challengers. Prestin recently graduated from Churchill High School where he was named a 5A Midwestern League 2nd Team All-League Outfielder. Prestin also received All League awards in basketball as well as football. He is a member of the National Honors Society and graduated with a 3.2 GPA. Prestin plans to continue his athletic career at Umpqua Community College where he will continue to play baseball.


 

#20 Cam Parks

Cameron joins the Challengers for the first time this season. He just completed his Junior year at North Eugene High School and has lettered all three years for baseball and basketball. This past year he was awarded 5A Midwestern League 2nd Team All-League in basketball and was an Honorable Mention infielder for baseball. Whenever Cam isn’t on the field or in the gym, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and watching his favorite MLB player, Albert Pujols.


 

#23 Jarrett Allen

Jarrett is a returning member of the Challengers and just completed his Junior year at Willamette High School. So far he has lettered all three years for baseball and earned Rookie of the Year as a freshman. He also had the highest GPA on the team during his sophomore year. When he isn’t on the field, he likes to hunt and fish.


 

#24 Isaiah Lugo

Isaiah just graduated from Sheldon High School and is joining the Challengers for his first season. He graduated from HIS and also won 1st place in a Math Competition. Isaiah lettered two years for baseball and one year for football at Sheldon where he earned a 6A Southwest Conference 2nd Team All-League Defensive Lineman in football and Honorable Mention Catcher in Baseball. He plans on playing baseball at Saint Martin’s University on an academic scholarship. While off the field, he enjoys studying math, drawing, designing, and watching highlights of his favorite MLB player, Ken Griffey Jr.


 

#30 Cho Tofte

Cho just finished his second year at Churchill High School and joins the Challengers for his first year. He earned a varsity letter for baseball and was a part of the 2018 D1 State Summer championship team as well as the 2019 5A State Quarterfinal team. Cho often plays a large variety of sports outside of baseball, and enjoys playing video games as well as spending time with friends and family.


 

#31 Cory Apker

Cory just completed his Junior year at Sheldon Highschool and is joining the Challengers for his first season. Cory lettered in baseball for his junior year and plans to continue as an athlete for his senior year. His interests include fishing and watching his favorite MLB player, Matt Chapman.


 

#32 Hayden Brooke

Hayden is joining the Challengers for his first season and currently attends Lane Community College. As a graduate from Sheldon High School, he’s continuing to play baseball into his college career. When Hayden isn’t on the field, he enjoys hunting, fishing and watching his favorite MLB player, Madison Bumgarner.


 

#34 Brandon Good

Brandon is joining the Challengers for his first year after graduating from Churchill High School. At Churchill. He graduated with a 3.6 GPA and took several college level courses. He is a 3-time letter winner for football and a 4-time letter winner for baseball. He earned All-League and All-State honors for baseball. Brandon plans to attend Treasure Valley Community College where he will continue his baseball career. Outside of baseball, he enjoys fishing, hunting and spending time with friends and family. You can also find him playing video games late at night and watching his favorite MLB player, Bryce Harper.
